Writing and Problems

The worst thing - I talked this over with my daughter. I told her that for me, I may not have time or run out of ideas, etc, but the worst, the absolute worst, is that you are all alone. She said she'd read what I wrote and give me feedback. She's good. She's honest, too.
I am now rereading what I wrote up til now. I think I have 75 pages. I printed out the last 35. I lost track of what I had written before and what I thought was in there. I am especially concerned that I get clues in.

Anyway, I will send my first few pages for my daughter to look over while I read my last.

I also want to recommend, if I didn't do this before, the Writer's Digest. Google it. There is so much free information. I also submitted to a writing prompt. Fun! Check it out.

I also have to say and want to thank Jill Robinson for starting a writing group in the Hollywood area. It is wonderful! I do get great feedback there and ideas. Still I hunger for more. Well, one problem is that I don't want to reveal the criminal, but I want to know if I am putting in obvious clues.

Sure hope someone replies to this and shares their concerns and problems.

Getting the Hang of Blogging

Ok, so I've started the blog and didn't know that to add to it I have to post and not comment. Now I know.
Any writers out there with recommendations on software?
Now, I have over 75 pages already and don't know if it would be worth it to invest in any other writing software. I do have Screenwriter, but I'm not writing a screenplay at this time. I'm writing a novel.

Now that that is out of the way, on to writing. I have to restate the worst thing is that it's so darn solitary. Maybe it's like a painter who paints. Having been an actress, I know it's not like that. For the time that you are working on a play you have a sense of community. That is not the case with writing. I miss the community and camaraderie of the theater.
On the other hand, some times you get to be so supportive of your fellow performers that you miss critiques that could aid your performance. That is everyone is being to nice to give you supportive criticism. At least at some point, even if its during the performance, you get feedback.
What do you get as a writer?
Rejection or being ignored by agents and publishers. You don't get feedback before you submit. You don't get a chance to hone it, like you can with a performance.
What can you do to proofread or improve your writing?
One thing I've found out is that that reading out loud helps. So do writer's groups.
Any other thoughts on this?

What is the hardest thing about writing?
Sitting down and doing it.
Do you write and know what it's like to face the keyboard and monitor with no idea of what to add? Do you dread proofreading?
Well, I sometimes have the problem.
